The Washington Capitals look to extend their two-game home winning streak today against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Capitals will be playing on Super Bowl Sunday for the fifth consecutive year and currently own an overall record of 14-6-2-0 on Super Bowl Sunday. Four of those players are expected to suit up today with Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby leading all players in that span with four 100-point seasons. New kids on the block – Mike Ribeiro currently leads the Capitals in points (eight) and has registered 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) in 18 career games vs. Pittsburgh while Wojtek Wolski has collected 10 points (four goals, six assists) in nine career contests against the Penguins.

Sunday afternoon at the rink – The Capitals earned their first win of the season on Jan. 27 vs. Buffalo, the team’s first afternoon game and first Sunday game of the 2012-13 season. The Capitals went 5-3-1 last season in games beginning before 6 p.m., 3-2-0 at Verizon Center, and won two of their final three Sunday contests.
