Caps Today, 6/13/13

Today’s Storyline

The Washington Capitals announced the dates of their 2013 Development Camp yesterday, which will run from July 8-13.

Capitals development camp is an annual week-long summer session with on- and off-ice workouts designed to help Capitals prospects improve their games and allow the Capitals to evaluate their progress. This is the seventh straight year that the camp is being held at Kettler Capitals Iceplex; past development camps have been held in Odenton, Md., and Hershey, Pa.

Attendees include Capitals prospects who are under contract and recent Capitals draft picks who have not been signed yet.

Fan Fest will be held on the final day of the Capitals Development Camp. The entire camp is open to the public (complete on-ice schedule and roster will be announced at a later date) with a scrimmage set for Saturday, July 13, at 10 a.m. In addition to the scrimmage, Fan Fest will feature the team’s annual equipment sale and autograph sessions with Capitals defenseman Steven Oleksy and other Capitals prospects as well as a special free open skate.
