Green’s two-goal performance moved him past Scott Stevens (98) for fourth place in franchise history in goals by a defenseman. The Calgary, Alberta, native now sits just one goal shy of 100 NHL/Capitals goals and one assist shy of 200 NHL/Capitals assists. Green ranks first among Washington defenseman in points (21) and assists (16) this season and ranks second on the team in ice time (23:12).
