Capitals prospect Jakub Vrana is entering his third training camp with the Washington Capitals. Last year with the Hershey Bears, Vrana finished with 36 points (19g, 17a) in 49 games, adding another three goals and three assists in 21 games with the Capitals. And while all three of Vrana’s goals came on the power play, Vrana still generated 24 individual scoring chances in his 21 NHL games at five on five. In his 21-game NHL season, Vrana was frequently iced alongside Lars Eller and Andre Burakovsky, who each recorded a 54.60 and a 55.34 shot attempt percentage, respectively, last season. Those were the two highest percentages on the Capitals. The Prague, Czech Republic, native made his NHL debut on Dec. 1 against the Islanders and scored his first NHL goal on Dec. 9 at Buffalo. Vrana tallied his first multi-point game with two assists on Dec. 13 against the Islanders. He was drafted by the Capitals in the first round, 13th overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft.
