Since Dec. 1, the Capitals have gone 11-2-2, tied for the second-most points (24) during that span in the NHL (Vegas: 25). During that time frame, the Capitals have recorded 34 goals at five-on-five, tied for the third-most and have allowed 26, the 13 th-fewest total. Washington has generated 128 shot attempts from the high-danger areas of the ice—defined as the areas immediately surrounding the crease and the slot, ranked 12 th in the NHL. Additionally, the Capitals have recorded a .898 save percentage on high-danger shot attempts taken against them at five-on-five, good for the fifth-highest save percentage during that time frame in the NHL

The Capitals will look to extend their eight-game winning streak on home ice when they return to Capital One Arena on Sunday afternoon to face the St. Louis Blues at 3 pm.
