Team Schedule

·         The Capitals will hold an optional skate at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. Participating players will be available following the skate. In addition, head coach Barry Trotz will be available at 12 p.m. and select players will be available at 12:30 p.m.


Player Notes

·         Brett Connolly scored his fourth goal of the playoffs and in his second straight game.

·         Evgeny Kuznetsov recorded his ninth goal of the postseason and extended his point streak to six games (4g, 7a). Kuznetsov’s 20 points lead the Capitals. Kuznetsov is now one point shy of the Capitals’ all-time postseason mark set by Alex Ovechkin (21) in 2009

·         Matt Niskanen recorded an assist, his second-straight game with an assist and his fifth assist of the playoffs.

·         Chandler Stephenson recorded a primary assist, his fourth of the playoffs.

·         T.J. Oshie recorded his sixth assist and 11 th point of the postseason.

·         Lars Eller recorded his seventh assist and 12 th point of the playoffs, one shy of his personal best set in 2014 with Montreal. Eller also led the team with eight face-off wins.

·         Braden Holtby stopped 19 of the 23 shots he faced. Holtby is now 10-4 in the playoffs.

·         Alex Ovechkin registered a game-high nine shots on goal- most in the playoffs this year.  

·         Devante Smith-Pelly led the team with eight hits.

·         Matt Niskanen led the team with three blocked shots.


Team Notes

·         The Capitals have now won 11 of their last 14 playoff games overall.

·         The Capitals registered 38 shots on goal- their highest shot total in the playoffs.  

·         The Capitals did not record a power play goal for just the third game in the playoffs.

·         Tonight’s attendance was 18,506, the Capitals 411 th consecutive sellout at Capital One Arena.
