Caps Today, 7/23

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin (Russia), defensemen John Carlson (USA), Mike Green (Canada), Karl Alzner (Canada), center Nick Backstrom (Sweden) and Marcus Johansson (Sweden), goaltender Braden Holtby (Canada) along with prospect Evgeny Kuznetsov (Russia) have all been invited to National Men’s Hockey Orientation Camps.

The camps are designed to assist in the preparation of the 2014 Olympic Men's Ice Hockey teams that will compete at the XXII Olympic Winter Games to be held from Feb. 7-23, 2014, in Sochi, Russia.

The United States Olympic Men’s National Team Orientation Camp will be held at Kettler Capitals Iceplex from Aug. 26-27.  Details surrounding the five-day orientation camp will be released by the Capitals and USA Hockey at a later date.

The Czech Republic has yet to announce the players invited to its Olympic Camp.
